FLEXcon Company, Inc., a specialist in adhesive coating and laminating and asscoiated products, has announced that for the fifth consecutive year it has been selected by DAXAM, Inc. to help produce and donate graphics for the Chicago-area Operation North Pole (ONP) charity event. ONP provides a fun-filled day of holiday festivities and adventure for families who have a child battling a life threatening illness, including a “trip to the North Pole” on Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest line. On December 10, 2016, FLEXcon will partner with ONP to once again wrap the train cars with holiday themed graphics.

Approximately 72 families will attend the event this year, which will embody a classical winter wonderland theme including an array of holiday activities as well as breakfast with local police and fire officials, and gift-giving for all of the participating children. Five train cars and an engine will be wrapped this year with festive displays including polar bears, presents, reindeer and snowmen. The cars will each be wrapped by DAXAM, Inc. using FLEXcon’s BUSart Air Egress, SEETHRU-SIGN White/Black Flex 2 and REFLECTAmark U 450 products. The REFLECTAmark material will be used for reflective accent designs such as snowflakes and stars which will make it possible for the trains to be seen at night.

FLEXcon’s REFLECTAmark U 450 is a glass bead product designed to reflect light from a wider angle than standard glass bead products, increasing visibility of objects off to the side such as parked highway equipment. REFLECTAmark U 450 product provides wide angle reflectivity and allows for higher reflectivity at wider angles to increase awareness, visibility and safety. BUSart Air Egress product with air egress release liner technology is designed for short-term, large-format graphics on simple or compound curved surfaces. Applications include bus and train wraps, smooth column wraps, elevator doors, table/bar tops, and window graphics, along with signage laminated to rigid substrates. Its removable adhesive is designed to remove cleanly from a variety of surfaces. BUSart™ Air Egress is printable via UV and solvent screen and UV and solvent inkjet. SEETHRU-SIGN White/Black Flex 2 (STSWBF2 – 60/40 pattern) perforated window film is used on the windows of vehicles to provide see-through viewing from the inside out and optimal graphics visibility when viewing from the outside looking in. It is printable via UV and solvent screen, UV and solvent inkjet and is HP Latex compatible. BUSart™ OV5055 2 mil optically clear cast vinyl overlaminate will be used on the body of the train, as well as the perforated window film. BUSart OV5055 provides optimal clarity for the window perforated film, graphic protection, and gloss look for the graphics.
